  Group Lessons at Oak Hill School
  1. Pop & Rock Guitar for Beginners - Ages 6-12, January-May, 2008
    Students learn basic reading, rhythm, and composition skills. Students will play and write songs like their favorite musicians, and learn to play in small groups. Class size limited to 10.

  3. Songwriting & Recording Songs to CD - Ages 6-12, January-May, 2008
    The lyric-writing curriculum is supplied by the Country Music Hall of Fame. Students will learn how to write a complete song in the style of current popular musicians. They will learn lyric writing, melody, and song structure. They will use modern drum, keyboard, and guitar sounds to record their songs to CD on Pro-Tools recording software. At the end of the course, the class will visit the Songwriters' Hall of Fame in the Country Music Hall of Fame to meet professional songwriters and hear them perform. Class size limited to 6.
University Night School at Vanderbilt - One Night Preview Courses
These are one-night session designed to introduce students to all styles of modern guitar and to basic songwriting skills and modern recording technology. Students who enjoy these one-night courses may elect to take in-depth 10-week courses on guitar and songwriting skills.
